El investigador norteamericano Jeremy MacClancy en su obra The Decline of Carlism (University of Nevada, Reno USA, 2000), sobre la evolución política del legitimismo carlista durante la dictadura franquista, realizó dos breves referencias al carlismo asturiano.

En la primera, menciona la publicación del boletín La Mina a mediados de la década de 1960:

“The remaining secretaries estimated that their best policy was to forget their regal hopes for Carlos Hugo and to try to carry the Carlist majority with them by acelerating the pace of ideological change. To that end, they started publishing new periodicals, such as La Mina in Asturias and Campos de Españain rural Castile, both of which adopted a much more radical tone in their political comentaries”. (p. 100)

En la segunda, sitúa Asturias como uno de los territorios donde se empieza a producir la desestructuración del Partido Carlista en el año 1978:

“By April 1978, the local organization of the party had effectively ceased to function in Andalucía, Aragón, Asturias, Extremadura, and Galicia”. (p. 196)
